December 12th Late NCAA Basketball DFS Breakdown
@Hoover__26 December 12
There are two CBB slates on this fine Saturday, one receiving more attention than the other. The early slate, which already started, is stacked with powerhouse games. However, I am focusing on the later slate, which includes seven games that you can cash in on!
Guards
Bryce Alford- $7900
Alford is a scoring machine for UCLA, averaging over thirty DraftKings points per game. However, UCLA is going up against a very big Gonzaga team, and may need to call upon Alford to take some more perimeter shots. For a guy already averaging 16.2 points per game, that can only mean a scoring bonanza. Think about dropping the $7900 on your first guard, it is worth it.
Nick Emery- $6800
If BYU wants to defeat a high scoring Colorado Buffaloes team, they need scorers. BYU’s top guy, Kyle Collinsworth (who costs over ten grand tonight) averages only 14.5 points per game, so some others will need to step up and score. After coming back from a one game suspension, Emery dropped 17 points on Utah State. Now, he looks to have another great game against Colorado. While $6800 isn’t exactly a value play, it will free up a little salary space for guys like Alford.
Miles Wright- $6500
Wright’s Dartmouth team is pitted against a strong Stanford squad. Without a prominent post scorer, the Big Green will be looking to guys like Wright to manufacture a win. Wright averages 16.3 points per game, so we know he can score on a consistent basis. However, he can also get hot quickly when called upon, as he has a game where he poured in 39 points, on 7-9 from downtown. Wright is a great option tonight, and could explode for some monster fantasy points.
Forwards
Chris Boucher- $7600
You can afford to pay up for a few more guys than normal, as there are a few super cheap guys you can add to offset their prices. Boucher is one of those borderline pay-ups, as he has a tremendous matchup against Boise State. Boise State really struggles to defend in the post, and Boucher can take full advantage. I’m looking for a nice double-double out of Boucher, possibly more. His $7600 won’t hurt you too much, and he can give you a really high ceiling.
Evan Boudreaux- $3000
Evan’s price is a real head scratcher. For someone who averages 16 points and 9 boards, three grand is literally nothing. I understand he is a freshman, and he plays for Dartmouth, but you just can’t pass this up. I would jump at the chance to play a guy who averages as many DraftKings points as Bryce Alford for $4900 less than Alford, despite a tough matchup with Stanford.
Kyle Wiltjer- $8600
The most expensive play in this lineup, Wiltjer has a matchup with an occasionally soft UCLA defense. As much as I like Tony Parker, he just isn’t going to be able to shut Wiltjer down. If you are going to play someone who costs only $3000, you can afford to pay $8600 for a stud like Wiltjer. He can score down low, as well as drain three pointers. He is the kind of guy that ties the whole lineup together with big games day in and day out.
Utility
Obij Aget- $4100
Ok, so maybe Aget isn’t a name you would expect to hear. He averages 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds for New Mexico. Luckily for him, however, he is playing a UNI team that would much rather hang out on the perimeter. Aget is the kind of guy that can have a bad game where he doesn’t really do much, then come back and drop a double-double on some unsuspecting opponent. At this point in your roster, you need cheaper guys to help pay for your bigger stars, and at $4100, Obij Aget should do the trick.
Nick Duncan- $5000
Duncan is the kind of guy that plays big minutes, but isn’t really an offensive focal point. He averages 23.5 DraftKings points per game, and has a home matchup against Oregon. Duncan shoots and rebounds better at home, as well as committing less turnovers. He will also have to step in and score if Boise State wants to come out on top of the Ducks. At five grand even, Duncan rounds out your lineup and allows you to pay for guys like Wiltjer and Alford.
