Top Week Fifteen Tight Ends
@RJ_Kasper December 19
Rob Gronkowski vs Ten ($7700) – With Gronks time away and injuries I wish he was slightly cheaper here, but regardless of price, I really like his matchup. The Pats should be without Edelman this week and we could see similar production as last week from Gronk. Titans are decent against the run and working against the pass on the outside. This will open the middle of the field for both Amendola and Gronk. Pats are 14-point favorites, so let’s hope they get up with Gronk and close out with Bolden.
Greg Olsen @ NYG ($6900) – My 2nd Christmas wish is that Olsen didn’t tweak his knee last week. This is a dream spot for Olsen against the worst defense against TEs. But with Olsen getting hurt last week, Stewart getting hurt, and the Panthers having everything locked up with the playoffs, I worry about Olsen’s usage here. If he shows any sign of discomfort I am certain they will shut him down. I love him in GPP, but I don’t want to bet on him in cash in case he doesn’t finish the game.
Jordan Reed Vs Buf ($5900) – I wrote him up last week, said he had 30-point upside, and then didn’t play him. The weather scared me. Now he is in a matchup not near as great as last week and I certainly will be chasing him. Similar to the Titans defense, the Bills are strong on the outside and open up a little in the middle. They are 5th in DVOA against the TE, but with volatility at TE position, this stat doesn’t hold much weight. Reed is a good bet for volume, and volume means points.
Delanie Walker @ NE ($5600) – I hate when TE is hard. This is a good spot for Walker, who is Mariota favorite target. However, NE is very good at scheming your favorite target out of play and forcing you to use other methods. The best I can hope for is NE to be up enough to pull off the gas and get Walker some garbage-time work. Remember when Jordan Mathews went 6/80/1 on the final drive of Dallas game in week 3?
Benjamin Watson vs Det ($4800) – While everyone is quietly on Det in this game, they forget that NO will be airing it out too. This game has a game total of 51 and NO is favored. This is the game with a lot of fantasy goodness and Watson is right at the center. Saints, and Brees, play better at home. This is a spot where Watson can put up numbers like he did against NYG earlier this year.
