#MCM- Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets
@Hoover__26 December 14
The first time I saw Chris Ivory play was long before he put on the green and white. Back in his early days with the Saints, he was in a backfield that included guys like Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles and Reggie Bush. However, I have long said that Ivory was the most talented back on that roster. Now with the Jets, Ivory is getting a chance to show his skills as a feature back, as well as a fantasy star.
Ivory is the fifth ranked fantasy running back (per nfl.com scoring), and has been a weekly producer for the Jets. He rushed for an astounding 166 yards in week 4, and has eight all-purpose touchdowns this season. Ivory could probably put out way more fantasy points if the Jets passing game, led by Ryan Fitzpatrick and receivers Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall, wasn’t such a focal point of the offense. Nonetheless, Ivory has done more than enough to make him this week’s #MCM.
Looking past the numbers, you can see one thing clearly: Ivory can flat out play. His combination of speed and power makes him a pick your poison player for defenses. Try to contain him, and he will run it up the gut. Fortify the middle, and he can bounce it outside for a big gain anytime he wants. He can handle pretty much any defense that is thrown at him.
Chris Ivory is this week’s #MCM, and is continuing to stuff the fantasy scoresheets. If you can play him, I would do it. He can give you some seriously fantastic games.
