#MCM- Darren McFadden, RB, Dallas Cowboys
@Hoover__26 November 23
At the beginning of the year, Dallas had to find a way to fill the hole that DeMarco Murray left when he packed up and headed to Philadelphia. They added McFadden to the roster, and used him in a platoon with Julius Randle and Lance Dunbar. Randle set himself apart early, and McFadden was forced to take a back seat. However, Randle has gone from fantasy stud to jobless in half a season, and Dunbar is out for the year, so McFadden is thrust back into the thick of things.
McFadden was once a feature back, when he played for Oakland. However, those days seemed far in the past for much of this year. But never say never, as McFadden is back in the saddle and ready to ride. He has eclipsed the 100 yard mark three times so far this year, one being last week.
McFadden is currently sixth in the league in success rate (footballoutsiders.com), which is a stat that measures consistency and the success of runs in certain situations. So, McFadden is getting it done when he needs to, and that bodes well for not only his numbers, but the amount of carries he gets. He also has an 83% catch rate (footballoutsiders.com), so he is a dual threat out of the backfield. With Tony Romo back and playing, McFadden should have less pressure on him, and be able to break more runs through defenses that are protecting against the pass more.
Darren McFadden has the chance to be one of the top fantasy running backs this season, as he is ranked 17th for fantasy running backs (nfl.com) despite playing in a handcuff role for much of the year. McFadden could make the difference between a win and a loss for Dallas, and your fantasy team!
