December 6th NCAA Basketball DFS Breakdown
@Hoover__26 December 6
Hello and welcome to Fantasy Football Underground’s first ever College Basketball article! Today, I will be talking about the December 6th slate for college basketball. There are plenty of stars to pay up for, and plenty of cheap plays as well, but how do you put together a strong lineup? In my opinion, this is the ideal DFS lineup to play on the 6th.
Guards
Jack Gibbs- $8800
Gibbs is the star that you probably want to pay up for. He is playing against UNC, which has a star of their own in Marcus Paige. However, Paige just came back from injury, and Gibbs should put up some ridiculous numbers for undefeated Davidson. Gibbs is a good play, despite the high ownership rate. You can bank his big game and separate yourself from the pack with your other picks.
Nick Faust- $7000
While seven grand isn’t exactly a pay-up, it isn’t really cheap either. Faust is the definition of an up and down player, and is about as inconsistent as it gets. However, every so often, Faust has a day where he just stuffs the stat sheet. UCLA’s defense isn’t overpowering, and Faust could be in for an up day. If Long Beach State wants to have a real shot against the Bruins, they need the “good Nick Faust” as opposed to the “not so good Nick Faust”. You just have to hope the former shows up, as opposed to the latter.
Khalil Ahmad- $5000
If you want to play Gibbs and Faust, you have to play someone who isn’t quite as expensive. Khalil Ahmad averages 22.9 DraftKings points a game for Cal State Fullerton. With a matchup with the Washington Huskies, who average over twice as many blocks as Cal State Fullerton, the Titans will be looking to their guards for production. The Freshman Khalil Ahmad is a great option to offset the higher priced Gibbs and Faust.
Forwards
Tony Parker- $7700
No, the other Tony Parker. UCLA is an offensive powerhouse, but one of the most underrated players on that team is Tony Parker. Parker is playing a Long Beach State team that averages only 2.1 blocks per game, and their tallest player (Freshman LaRond Williams) is only 6’9”. He should be able to feast on the boards for UCLA (he averages a double double), and if the threes aren’t falling, Parker could see an even bigger role in the offense. His price tag may seem high, but I think he’s worth the money. There are plenty of cheap guys to offset the $7700 he will cost you.
Marquese Chriss- $4800
Chriss is probably the most offensively talented of the Huskies big men, averaging 13.2 points per game. The only real legitimate post defender for Cal State Fullerton is Kennedy Esume, who hasn’t played more than twenty minutes in the last five games, so the 6’8”, 230 pound Chriss can take advantage of the porous frontcourt. A bargain at only $4800, Chriss has been plagued with some stat swings this year. However, I see him as a really good bargain play.
Mamadou Ndiaye- $5700
I just can’t turn down a guy who stands 7’6”. You may think starting a big against the formidable frontcourt of Saint Mary’s is a bad idea, but Mamadou is a different story. He has eight inches on guys that normally tower in the post. With a wingspan at over 8’3”, and a standing reach of at least ten feet (he can touch the rim without jumping), he can’t help but get rebounds. Not to mention the fact that he can just turn and place the ball into the basket, over the leaping arms of hapless defenders, like a cartoon character. I think $5700 is a very fair price for someone who can go on a rampage and literally crush the other team. He went for 19 points and 15 rebounds last game, case and point.
Utility
Peyton Aldridge- $5900
Stacking Jack Gibbs with teammate Peyton Aldridge isn’t a bad idea. Aldridge hasn’t had less than 29.75 DraftKings points this year, and he is just another great scorer to play for Davidson. Your roster can always use another scorer, and especially one priced at less than six grand. Aldridge might not have a huge ownership rate, as people might be worried about Gibbs taking all the shots, but in this case, I think Davidson needs all of their scorers to show up and, well, score if they want to beat UNC. Aldridge is a good play at his price, and can give you some much needed points from the utility or forward spot.
Justin Bibbins- $5000
Bibbins is consistent, and that is very important. If you are going to take risks, which you need to do to win, you have to back it up with some solid producers. If Faust is going to have a huge game, someone is going to have to pass him the ball. Bibbins, who averages 5.8 assists per game, is probably the most qualified to do so. Bibbins can give you assists for days, and can get hot from the field when called upon. You might want to go for someone like him to round out your roster, as he gives you a high floor in contrast to some of your riskier plays.
