Top Week Thirteen Quarterbacks
@RJ_Kasper December 4
Cam Newton @ NO ($7400) – You see that little green 32 next to his name? That means your average DFSer will probably roster him and most of America. And they should. Cam is in a great spot here and he put up a 30 burger last time he faced NO. This time it is in the dome, though, and I don’t care how bad NO is, in the dome they play better. Despite that, Cam can put up the numbers you want and can be relied on in either cash or GPP. He definitely has a high floor, but don’t think he is going to be a sneaky play; he will most likely be the highest owned QB.
Ben Roethlisberger vs Ind ($6600) – Oh man. This is my favorite game this week (maybe tied with the NY game). I think Ben is an elite play and I hope his ownership is depressed with the injury news. I want him to be sneaky in GPP so bad. Lucky for you, I only have like three readers! Ben is a safe bet in cash and GPP but I think there are safer options in cash (with all his injuries this year). I see this game as a shoot out with, yes, Matt Hasselbeck (who, shhhh, I like as my very sneaky GPP play).
Matt Hasselbeck @ Pit ($5300) – I am most likely the first person to write about Matt this year and hope I don’t regret it. Let me be clear, he is GPP only for me, though if you are risky he could be used in cash. He won’t take much to pay off salary and will finally be playing from behind and need to throw. I love Matt and his receivers this week. I would project his ownership to be under 5% with all of the other great matchups this week.
Ryan Tannehill vs Bal ($5300) – First, monitor the weather; there are much better options out there if it is raining in this game. With that said, if the weather is clear I think Tannehill can be a really good play against this 30th ranked pass D. I don’t love him as a football player but he has taken advantage of good matchups this year and this is a good one. I love pairing him with Miami D/ST as well this week.
Ryan Fitzpatrick vs NYG ($5200) – I wish he wasn’t coming off a big game. This is my 2nd favorite game stack of the week. Be sure that I will have Fitzmagic in my lineups. I am not sure if I will have him in cash or not yet, but he is definitely viable for either cash or GPP. The Giants have the 31st ranked defense against the pass and are one dimensional on offense. I am hoping Giants can keep it close or I will be slightly worried this turns into an Ivory game.
Jay Cutler vs 49ers ($5100) – Jay Cutler has been a different player with a healthy Alshon in the game. He has thrived under Adam Gase as OC as well. The 49ers are bad on the road but I expect them to be able to move the ball a little bit. I like Cutler in both cash and GPP as well. If you haven’t noticed, I like most of these QBs in both formats which means ownership percentage should be pretty spread out, which is good. There is a lot of value this week, pick your spots to spend up at other posititions by spending down at QB.
