Top Week Fourteen Wide Receivers
@Jagibbs_23 December 12
Odell Beckham Jr. @ Miami (9100) - Antonio is my favorite WR if Pacman is ruled out, but OBJ is a close second. He looks like the guy we saw last year, he’s topped 100 yards in five straight games, has scored six TDs over that five game stretch, and has averaged 30 DK PPG over that span. Miami is 25th in the NFL in pass DVOA and this game could easily turn into a shootout. OBJ is an excellent option this week and could definitely outscore Brown at slightly lower ownership percentage. I want to pair him with Antonio if possible, but I like a Ben-Martavis stack with OBJ to get exposure to the PIT offense and also get in OBJ.
Antonio Brown @ Cincinnati (8900) - AB is averaging 32.84 DK PPG in games Ben has finished this year. Guess who has the next highest average? Well, it’s Antonio at 24.9 even though he’s played 33% of his games without his starting QB. But after him it’s Julio at 24.6, just to put how ridiculous that 32.84 number is in perspective. He gets a matchup this week against a Cincinnati secondary that is extremely banged up. Pacman Jones is almost definitely not playing this week and Leon Hall and safety George Iloka are both questionable. Even if Leon Hall plays this week, he will line up in the slot on Markus Wheaton. Hall plays 97% of his snaps from the slot and Wheaton plays 71% in the slot. So what do we get when the best WR in football (Graded out as a 98/100 according to PFF) lines up against replacement CBs and Dre Kirkpatrick? (Graded out as the fifth worst CB in the NFL) Fantasy goodness. Put him in as many lineups as you can this weekend, he's going to go off.
Brandon Marshall vs Tennessee (7600) - Did you see what Allen Robinson did last week against this secondary? Well Marshall is about the closest comparison there is to A-Rob from a skills standpoint, and he now gets to take on this secondary. He's also second in the NFL in red-zone targets, and led all WRs in red-zone TDs before A-Rob scored three against Tennessee last week... He seems to go overlooked every week and I hope that people chase points with Allen Robinson this week and leave Marshall at a lower ownership, because I think he could easily post his third straight 30 point fantasy performance in this one.
Mike Evans vs New Orleans (7200) - Delvin Breaux is banged up, and isn't projected to shadow Evans in this one. Evans will spend a decent amount of time against Brandon Browner, who has held down the fort as the worst PFF graded CB for the whole season, and it’s not really close. He allowed Ted Ginn to get open for 2 scores last week, and Ginn could have easily had four. Evans has by far the highest PFF matchup advantage of all WRs. He'll be a popular option, but he's worth a look in GPPs, as he could go off in this matchup.
Martavis Bryant @ Cincinnati (5700) - So you already know how banged up the Bengals secondary is. Enter explosive play maker Martavis Bryant, who will be less popular than Antonio Brown and is 3.2k cheaper. He's seventh in PPG among WRs, yet is priced as the 22nd most expensive WR. In a game I expect to turn into a shootout, Bryant is pretty much a no-brainer at this price.
Doug Baldwin @ Baltimore (4500) - Instinctively I don’t want to believe in him, but the way he’s playing he’s hard to ignore at this price in this matchup. I also am more willing to buy into his production due to the fact that Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the 13th best WR in the NFL. He's averaging 27.33 DK PPG over his past four games and has a matchup against a weak Baltimore secondary at only 4.5k. I don't care that he's going to be popular, he's a great value play.
DeVante Parker vs NYG (4000) - Parker has back to back weeks with TDs and did it in impressive fashion last week. There are also very few value plays at WR this week, so he may be a fairly popular value play, but he is still a great option in tournaments. Some will be off of him after he saw his target total from week 12 cut in half to five last week, but considering he accounted for five of Tannehill's 19 targets and 63 of his 86 yards, I feel safe saying his volume will increase this week as Tannehill's volume is sure to increase. There are very few players who offer the explosive play-making ability at this price.
